Shelia Johnson Pennl LeadershipMrs. Sheila Anne Johnson-Penn graduated from Crispus Attucks High School, then went to New Concept Beauty College. She owns her own business “A Step Above Beauty Salon” for over 20 years, To God Be the Glory! Her business is a ministry in that they pray and worship God in addition to doing hair.

Her parents have gone on to their heavenly homes. She is the oldest of seven children, two deceased. She has five children, one girl and four boys. She is blessed with 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She loves to bowl and travel for bowling tournaments. She is proud to also be a “grandmother” to her bowling family. She has held the office as President of the league for over 10 years.

She worked at Stewart Warner for 18 years until the plant was closed. She held office as Union Secretary and Union Representative, also Brownie Troop Leader, Cheer Leader in high school, Assistant Manager at Linders Ice Cream Palor, and a Department Manager at Value City Dept store.

She loves to help others and serves in the Feeding Ministry that she loves dearly. it blesses her to see people leave full and happy, appreciative for the meal they received. She has been involved in church over 60 years serving in various ministries such as:  Sunday School Teacher, singing in the Choir, president of United Methodist Women, Finance Chair, Lay Leader, United Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF) group, and Vacation Bible School. Serving where ever there is a need. I is now a caregiver for her sister who has Multiple Sclerosis (MS) as well as caring for sister’s son who is 19 now.

My favorite scripture is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 (NKJV). I used to say why me Lord, now I say why not me Lord. To God be the Glory!

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
